  • 1/2 cup cooled espresso or very strong coffee

  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder plus extra for dusting
  • 1/2 cup milk dairy or oat milk works well
  • Ice cubes fill a tall glass
  • 1-2 teaspoons sugar or maple syrup optional, for added sweetness

Method
 

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the mascarpone, cocoa powder, and milk until the mixture is smooth and slightly airy. Be careful not to overmix so that it stays silky and light.
  2. Fill a tall glass with plenty of ice cubes to keep the latte extra cold and visually appealing.
  3. Pour the cooled espresso or strong coffee into the glass. If you prefer a sweeter drink, stir in the sugar or maple syrup at this stage.
  4. For a beautiful layered effect, slowly pour the mascarpone cream over the back of a spoon so that it floats atop the coffee instead of mixing immediately.
  5. Dust the top with a little extra cocoa powder. For an extra special touch, you can rim your glass with crushed ladyfingers or graham cracker crumbs mixed with cocoa.
  6. Give the drink a gentle stir before enjoying to marry the flavors together.

Notes

This tiramisu iced latte is extremely versatile. To make it dairy-free, swap mascarpone for vegan cream cheese and use oat milk. For a lighter version, use less mascarpone or adjust the amount of sweetener.
