Ingredients

  • 2 cans Refrigerated crescent roll dough (8-oz cans)
  • 1/4 cup Spicy brown mustard or Dijon
  • 8 slices Provolone cheese
  • 8 slices Spicy turkey salami
  • 8 slices Hot turkey capicola
  • 8 slices Turkey pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup Sliced pepperoncini drained
  • 1/4 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes optional, for extra heat
  • 1 large Egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Italian seasoning

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Oven

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate all the triangles. Arrange them in a circle on the baking sheet with the wide ends overlapping in the center to form about a 5-inch diameter circle with the points extending outward.
  3. Spread 1/4 cup of spicy brown mustard (or Dijon) in a thin layer around the base of the crescent rolls near the center.
  4. Layer 8 slices of provolone cheese over the mustard, then add even layers of 8 slices each of spicy turkey salami, hot turkey capicola, and turkey pepperoni.
  5. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of drained, sliced pepperoncini over the meats, and if desired, add 1/4 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes for extra heat.
  6. Fold the pointed ends of the dough triangles over the filling and tuck them under the center to form a secure ring.
  7. Brush the entire ring with the beaten egg to achieve a golden, shiny finish, then sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese and 1 teaspoon of dried Italian seasoning.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the ring is golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Allow the ring to cool for a few minutes before slicing to help the flavors settle and ensure cleaner cuts.

Notes

This Spicy Italian Crescent Ring is highly adaptable; you can easily substitute the turkey meats with regular pepperoni or ham, omit the red pepper flakes for a milder version, or even try a mix of different cheeses for a new twist. It can be made ahead of time and reheated, making it a great option for parties or gatherings. Serve with a crisp arugula salad, light tomato soup, or roasted vegetables for a full meal experience. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for a day or two.
