Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together 2 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, and if desired, 1/2 teaspoon each of smoked paprika and lemon zest.
  3. Place 4 cups of oyster crackers into a large mixing bowl and drizzle with 4 tablespoons of melted halal butter (or oil). Toss gently until evenly coated.
  4. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over the crackers and toss again to distribute the flavors well.
  5. Spread the seasoned crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet to ensure they crisp evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, stirring gently halfway through to promote even browning.
  7. If using, immediately sprinkle 1 tablespoon of finely chopped fresh parsley over the hot crackers after removing them from the oven.
  8. Allow the crackers to cool completely before serving. Enjoy them on their own or paired with your favorite soup, dip, or salad.
