Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown 1 pound of ground turkey with 1 small diced onion for about 7-8 minutes until the meat is no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.
- Add 2 cloves of minced garlic to the turkey and onion mixture and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Stir in 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup sour cream, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese along with ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper, and ½ teaspoon paprika (if using). Mix until well combined.
- Spread the turkey and creamy mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Arrange the 32 oz bag of frozen tater tots in a single layer over the mixture. There’s no need to thaw them first.
- Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes, until the tater tots begin to turn golden brown.
- Remove the casserole from the oven, sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top, and return it to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted completely.
- Allow the casserole to cool for about 5 minutes before serving. If desired, garnish with sliced green onions for a fresh finish.
